The woman, who hit Petara Cordero, will not be charged with a crime. The girlfriend of Cleveland Browns defensive end Chris Smith was hit and killed on I-90 in September.
Cordero was standing on the shoulder of the road when she was hit by a woman, who lost control of her vehicle. Smith’s 2019 Lamborghini had a tire issue that led to both Smith and Cordero to exit the vehicle.
The 47-year-old woman admitted to drinking before the crash. The woman crashed into passenger side of the Lambo and hit Cordero.
The woman was not identified by the authorities. However, they said she was not legally drunk at the time of the accident that killed Cordero.
The authorities said that the woman was ‘not impaired, driving recklessly, or speeding.’ She also underwent a toxicology test that showed she was not drunk.
Smith said that what the couple had was forever. Before the accident, Smith and Cordero had a daughter in August.
Cordero was 26.
