Audrey Worm is the second female Top Fuel driver/owner in NHRA history. Worm revealed more details about her new team on Thursday at SEMA at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Grantville, Pennsylvania native announced that Ashley Fye will be her team’s crew chief. In addition, she announced that Jenna Drake will be the team’s car chief.
“As some people may or may not know, I am the second female owner/driver of a Top Fuel team in NHRA history,” Worm said at SEMA. “The first was the legend Shirley Muldowney. I just purchased and brought home my first Top Fuel car. I’m also the first to do something else. The really, really, really big news that we wanted to announce this [week] at SEMA that I’ll be the first Top Fuel team as the owner/driver and three women – women of power and really strong women – Ashley Fye will be my crew chief and Jenna Drake, formerly Jenna Haddock, will be my car chief.”
Both women have previous experience in the NHRA. Fye previously served as Scott Palmer’s crew chief early on in his full-time Top Fuel racing career.
Drake – formerly Jenna Haddock – is a former Top Fuel Dragster pilot. She piloted a Top Fuel Dragster that was owned by Terry Haddock – her former husband – at several national events.
This will be part of the “Girl Power” team that Worm is putting together. Worm also recently bought the Top Fuel Dragster from Drake.
Drake competed in 15 NHRA national events. She had one quarterfinal appearance in her career after upsetting Tony Schumacher in her lone round win.
