The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns blew out the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Thursday night. The Ragin’ Cajuns won 48-7 over the Chanticleers at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina.
This is Louisiana’s third straight win. They have outscored 116-30, including 79-10 in the past two games.
According to the Ragin’ Cajuns, the 41-point win is the biggest win over a Sun Belt Conference opponent in program history.
With the win, the Ragin’ Cajuns improved to a 7-2 record. The team is now 4-1 in conference play.
The loss dropped the Chanticleers fell to 4-5 on the season. They are just 1-4 in conference play.
Louisiana quarterback Levi Lewis went 26 of 30 for 296 yards. He also threw three touchdown passes.
Chris Smith had eight carries for 99 yards and a touchdown. Elijah Mitchell had 10 carries for 52 yards. Trey Ragas had four carries for 19 yards and a touchdown.
Lewis also had four carries for 13 yards and a touchdown.
Ja’Marcus Bradley had seven receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. Jarrod Jackson had three receptions for 48 yards, while Jalen Williams had three receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Peter Leblanc had five receptions for 33 yards, while Mitchell had a 31-yard reception. Neal Johnson had a one-yard touchdown reception.
Coastal Carolina quarterback Bryce Carpenter went 9 of 20 for 71 yards.
Fred Payton also went 3 of 3 for 62 yards. He also threw a touchdown pass.
CJ Marable had 10 carries for 54 yards.
Sam Denmark had a 44-yard touchdown reception. Jeremiah Miller had two receptions for 44 yards.
The Ragin’ Cajuns scored 24 points in the second half. Lewis hit Williams for a 10-yard touchdown reception. Lewis also hit Bradley for a 10-yard touchdown reception.
Smith scored on a 52-yard rushing touchdown. Stevie Artigue also made a 28-yard field goal.
The Chanticleers scored seven second half points. Payton hit Denmark for a 44-yard touchdown reception.
Louisiana led 24-0 at halftime. Lewis scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown. Ragas also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Lewis hit Johnson for a one-yard rushing touchdown. Artigue also made a 21-yard field goal.
