Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen has been lost for the rest of the season. Allen has an MCL injury, according to the team.
The injury happened during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It happened in the second quarter on the same play that quarterback Jared Goff was sacked by Cameron Heyward for a 10-yard loss.
After being injured, Allen had to receive assistant to get back to the Rams locker room. He missed the rest of the game, as the Rams lost to the Steelers.
Without Allen in the lineup, head coach Sean McVay used Austin Blythe as the center. He could be used as the replacement for the rest of the season.
Blythe transitioned from guard to center.
Since being the team’s fourth round draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, he has played in 25 of the possible 28 games in his career. He also played in the team’s three playoff games, including the Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots in February 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.
