Seahawks win 2019 thriller over 49ers in overtime

The Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers played in a thriller in their 2019 Monday Night Football game. Unfortunately for one team, there had to be a loser in the contest.

The Seahawks defeated the 49ers, 27-24, in overtime. The 71,404 fans at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Stadium was able to see one of the best games of the season.

Seattle improved to 8-2 on the season with the season. Now, with the victory, the team is 5-0 on the road.

San Francisco fell to 8-1 on the season. They are now 3-1 at home.

Despite the loss, the 49ers still leads the NFC West standings with the 8-1 mark.

Seattle leads the all-time series 26-16. The Seahawks have won 12 of the last 15 meetings, including 10 straight from Jan. 19, 2014 through Dec. 2, 2018.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson went 24 of 34 for 232 yards. He also threw one touchdown pass and one interception.

Chris Carson had 25 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown.

DK Metcalf had six receptions for 70 yards. Jacob Hollister had eight receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown, while Malik Turner had two receptions for 35 yards.

49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went 24 of 46 for 248 yards. He threw a touchdown pass and an interception.

Tevin Coleman had nine carries for 40 yards.

Deebo Samuel had eight receptions for 112 yards, while Kendrick Bourne had four receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown. Coleman also had four receptions for 32 yards.

Seahawks kicker Jason Myers made a 42-yard field goal, as time expired in overtime.

Seattle outscored San Francisco 17-14 in the second half. Wilson hit Hollister for a three-yard touchdown reception. Carson also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Myers also made a 46-yard field goal.

DeForest Buckner scored on a 12-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Garoppolo hit Bourne to convert on a two-point conversion. Chase McLaughlin made two field goals, including a 39-yard field goal and a 47-yard field goal.

The 49ers led 10-7 at halftime. Garoppolo hit Bourne for a 10-yard touchdown reception. McLaughlin also made a 43-yard field goal.

Seahawks’ Jadeveon Clowney scored on a 10-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
