By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailia has been injured against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Instead of re-injuring his ankle that he had previously had surgery on, he injured his hip. Tagovailoa was initially thought to have a bloody nose when he went down after being tackled by two Bulldogs defensive players. However, it was immediately clear that he could not put any weight on his legs. This meant that a cart had to come out and he needed to get help to the locker room for medical attention. ESPN reported during the game that he was screaming in pain. Nick Saban said he wanted Tagovailoa to do a two-minute drill before halftime with the Tide leading 35-7. Several plays later, Tagovailoa was injured.
