The Ohio Bobcats blew out the Akron Zips on Tuesday night. The Bobcats won 52-3 over the Zips at InfoCision Stadium in Akron, Ohio.
The Bobcats became Bowl eligible with the win. Ohio improved to 6-6 after this blowout.
Ohio also went 5-3 within the conference.
The Zips had the worst record in the entire Mid-American Conference. The team ended their season with an 0-12 mark, including an 0-8 conference mark.
Ohio leads the all-time series, 18-10. Akron has lost the last two games in the series.
The Zips have not won in the series since a 37-34 win on Nov. 14, 2017.
Bobcats quarterback Nathan Rourke went 20 of 28 for 308 yards. He also had four touchdowns.
De’Montre Tuggle had nine carries for 78 yards, while O’Shaan Allison had seven carries for 71 yards and a touchdown. Rourke had 10 carries for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Ja’Vahri Portis also contributed five carries for 28 yards and a touchdown.
Tyler Walton had five receptions for 82 yards, while Shane Hooks had five receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns. DK Knock had a 53-yard touchdown reception.
Camryn Snow had two receptions for 44 yards. Ryan Luehrman had a nine-yard touchdown reception.
Zips quarterback Zach Gibson went 3 of 11 for 23 yards. He also threw an interception.
Robbie Kelley also went 0 of 2 with an interception.
Peter Hayes-Patrick had 14 carries for 42 yards.
Jeremiah Knight had two receptions for 22 yards.
The Bobcats outscored the Zips 21-0 in the second half. Allison scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown. Rourke scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Portis scored on a three-yard rushing touchdown.
Ohio led 31-3 at halftime. Rourke hit Hooks for an 11-yard touchdown reception. Rourke also hit Luehrman for a nine-yard touchdown reception.
Rourke hit Knock for a 53-yard touchdown reception. Rourke also connected with Hooks for a 39-yard touchdown reception. Louie Zervos also made a 40-yard field goal.
Zips kicker Cory Smigel made a 25-yard field goal.
