According to FootballScoop, Boston College head coaches Steve Addazio will not return for the 2020 season. He was the leader of the program for seven seasons.

One year ago, the Athletic Department was considering firing Addazio. However, they decided to give him another season.

This time, though, the 6-6 season was not enough for the Eagles administration to allow him to return for an eighth season.

He leaves the program with a 44-44 record. He also went 22-34 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Addazio is 57-55 as a college football coach. He went 13-11 in two seasons with the Temple Owls before accepting the Eagles coaching position.

Five of his seven seasons at the school, he guided the program to 7 sevens. Four of those seasons, the program ended on a 7-6 record and only once with a 7-5 record.

The 6-6 record was his second-worst season at the school during his tenure. The Eagles had a 3-9 mark in 2015.

He guided Boston College to five Bowl games. However, last year’s First Responder Bowl was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Officials ruled the game a no contest.

He was 1-3 in Bowl games. The team won the Quick Lane Bowl following the 2016 regular season.
