Antwaun Woods, who is a defensive tackle with the Dallas Cowboys, was arrested on Tuesday following a traffic stop, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He has been arrested on drug and tampering charges.
He reportedly tried to “put out a marijuana cigarette” when he was being stopped for speeding. Woods; however, did not stop immediately, like he was instructed to do so.
Instead, he reportedly dropped the cigarette into a water bottle that was half-empty, according to the Associated Press. He was stopped in Frisco, Texas.
Woods is facing a third-degree felony for tampering with evidence. In addition, he has been hit with a misdemeanor for having “over two ounces but less than four ounces of marijuana.”
The authorities have also hit him with a possession of drug paraphernalia fine.
He will not join the Cowboys on Thursday night. Dallas faces the Chicago Bears in Chicago, Illinois.
Woods has missed the team’s previous two games due to an injury.
