According to FootballScoop, Pittsburg State has found its new head football coach. The school has reportedly hired Toledo Rockets offensive coordinator Brian Wright to be the program’s new leader.
Wright replaces Tim Beck, who departed the program after the 2019 season. The Gorillas went 82-35 during Beck’s tenure.

This will be Wright’s first full-time head coaching opportunity. In 2013, he served as the Florida Atlantic Owls interim head coach for four games.
He won all four of those games.
He had been with the Rockets since the 2016 season. Before coming to Toledo, he severed in several capacities with the Florida Atlantic Owls since the 2013 season.
Wright also has experience at the FCS level with the Montana State Bobcats and the Youngstown State Penguins. He also served in several roles with the Walsh Cavaliers.
He also worked for the Penguins for the first-time in 1997 as a Graduate Assistant. He also served as a Graduate Assistant with the Cavaliers.
His coaching career began with the Wooster Fighting Scots in 1994.
