The final College Football Playoff rankings were released on Sunday. The Top 4 teams were released around 12:15 pm EST, while the rest of the standings will be released at approximately 3 pm EST.

The LSU Tigers were the No. 1 team after they defeated the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs in the Southeastern Conference on Saturday in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. As of this season, no No. 1 ranked team has won the College Football Playoff since it was established in 2014.

The Ohio State Buckeyes — who had been the No. 1 team in the ranking in recent weeks — fell to the No. 2 team in the rankings. The Buckeyes defeated the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday night in the Big Ten Conference Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

College Football Playoff Committee Chairman Rob Mullens said that the Tigers win over Georgia sealed their top spot. The Tigers are also the first team since the 1943 season to have five wins over Top 10 teams before their Bowl game.

The defending Champions, the Clemson Tigers, are the No. 3 ranked team. The Tigers dismantled the No. 23 Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

With the Bulldogs suffering their second loss of the season, the Oklahoma Sooners captured the No. 4 spot. The Sooners defeated the No. 7 Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Conference Championship on Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Stadium.

The Tigers and the Sooners will face off at 4 pm EST at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. The game will be played on December 28th at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Following the Tigers/Sooners game will be the Buckeyes and Tigers contest in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. This game will kick off at 8 pm EST on December 28th at StateFarm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
