2019 Black Knights vs. Midshipmen College Football Matchup

While the Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen will do battle for three hours, or more hours, on Saturday, all of the men doing battle are all winners in our book. They will protect our freedoms foreign and domestic as we are allowed to continue to bring you the great contest that makes The Capital Sports Report.

The Black Knights and the Midshipmen will do battle on Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The game will be televised on CBS at 3 pm EST.

This will be the 120th game between the best rivalry in college football.

The Midshipmen will attempt to snap a three-game losing streak to the Black Knights. Despite the three-game win streak by Army, Navy will leads the all-time series 57-52-7.

Before the Black Knight’s win in 2016 in a 21-17 win, Army had not won in the series since December 1st, 2001 in a 26-17 win in Philadelphia.

The Black Knights season will come to an end following this game. Army brings a 5-7 record into the contest.

The Midshipmen currently has a 9-2 record. They will also play in the upcoming Bowl season, as Navy will face the Kansas State Wildcats in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Tuesday, December 31st at 3:45 pm on ESPN.

“Going to a bowl game is always one of our top goals, but right now our only focus is to get goal number one and that is to beat Army and win back the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy,” Midshipmen head coach Ken Niumatalolo said.

Black Knights quarterback Kelvin Hopkins Jr. has gone 32 of 75 for 570 yards. He also has four touchdown passes and five interceptions.

Hopkins Jr. has 137 carries for 706 yards and seven touchdowns. Camden Harris has 23 receptions for 415 yards and three touchdowns.

“It’s hard to believe that those guys are already getting ready to graduate and be commissioned as officers in the United States Army. But, they are a class that’s really developed,” Army head coach Jeff Monken said following the team’s 47-6 rout of VMI on Nov. 16. “A lot of these guys have played a ton of football for us and that led to a lot of the success we’ve had here over the last few years.”

Midshipmen quarterback Malcolm Perry has gone 43 of 79 for 1,027 yards. He has thrown six touchdown passes and three interceptions.

Perry has 238 carries for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns. Mychal Cooper has 15 receptions for 355 yards and two touchdowns.
