The Seattle Seahawks were in desperate need of running backs that they reached back into their past. The team signed running backs Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin.

The Seahawks had three running backs go down with season-ending injuries. This opened the door for the franchise to bring in these two players.

Neither running back has played this season. Both players played last during the 2018 season with the Oakland Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts, respectively.

Lynch has signed for the final game of the regular season. His contract also includes the 2020 postseason.

One has to believe that Turbin’s contract is the same.

During the 2018 season, Turbin played for the Colts. He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Seahawks from 2012-14.

With Seattle, he appeared in 48 games, including three starts. He had 231 carries for 928 yards.

He also has 43 receptions for 427 yards and two touchdowns.

In his career, he has appeared in 81 games, including four starts. Three of those four starts came during the 2014 season with Seattle.

He has 355 carries for 1,354 yards and nine touchdowns. He has also had 86 receptions for 688 yards and three touchdowns.

Lynch last played with the Raiders during the 2018 season. He appeared in six games, including six starts. He had 90 carries for 376 yards and three touchdowns.

He also had 15 receptions for 84 yards.

Lynch last played for Seattle during the 2015 season. He then took a season off in 2016, before returning in 2017 and 2018 with his hometown Raiders.

With the Seahawks, he has appeared in 82 games, including 77 starts. He had 1,457 carries for 6,347 yards and 57 touchdowns.

Lynch also had 158 carries for 1,309 yards and eight touchdowns.

In his career, he has appeared in 148 games, including 135 starts. He has had 2,441 carries for 10,379 yards and 84 touchdowns.

He also has 287 receptions for 2,214 yards and nine touchdowns.

Both Lynch and Turbin were part of the Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII winning team that defeated the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2, 2014 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
