Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl after 50-years

The Kansas City Chiefs will have final game of the season. The Chiefs have advance to Super Bowl LIV.

Kansas City defeated the Tennessee Titans, 35-24, on Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

This is the first-time in 50-years that the Chiefs are playing in the Super Bowl. Their last Super Bowl appearance, which was a win, came on Jan. 11, 1970 when the Chiefs won 23-7 over the Minnesota Vikings at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Kansas City is 1-1 all-time in the big game. They were defeated 35-10 by the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl 1 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II went 23 of 35 for 294 yards. He had three touchdown passes.

Mahomes II had eight carries for 53 yards and a touchdown. Sammy Watkins had seven receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown.

Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill went 21 of 31 for 209 yards. He had two touchdown passes.

Derrick Henry had 19 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown. Corey Davis had five receptions for 65 yards.

Kansas City outscored Tennessee, 14-7, in the second half. Damien Williams scored on a three-yard rushing touchdown. Mahomes II hit Watkins for a 60-yard touchdown reception.

Titans’ Tannehill hit Anthony Firkser for a 22-yard touchdown reception.

Chiefs led 21-17 at halftime. Mahomes II hit Tyreek Hill for a 20-yard touchdown reception. Mahomes II also scored on a 27-yard rushing touchdown.

Mahomes II and Hill connected for a second touchdown, as the quarter hit Hill for an eight-yard touchdown reception.

Titans’ Tannehill hit Dennis Kelly for a one-yard touchdown reception. Henry scored on a four-yard rushing touchdown.

Greg Joseph made a 30-yard field goal.
