It was believed that Derek Jeter would become the second unanimous Baseball Hall of Famer. However, he missed that feat by just one vote.
Jeter is the star of the Class of 2020 in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. He will be joined by Larry Walker in the class.
Both individuals received more than 75% of the vote. Jeter was elected on his first-year on the ballot, while Walker was elected on his final-year on the ballot.

Jeter received 99.7% of the vote with 396 votes. Walker was six votes above the mark with 304 votes and 76.6% of the vote.
These players will be recognized in July in the small town in New York. Hall of Fame Weekend is July 24-27.
Jeter spent his entire career with the New York Yankees. The Pequannock, New Jersey native was drafted by the Yankees with the sixth overall pick in the 1992 MLB Draft from Central High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
He played for the Yankees from 1995 as a 21-year-old through the 2014 season as a 40-year-old. He was a 14-time All-Star and a five-time Silver Slugger, along with being a five-time Gold Glove player.

Jeter won five World Series Championships. In one of those World Series, he was named the World Series MVP. In his career, he was also named the Rookie of the Year and All-Star MVP.
In his career, he had a .310 batting average with 260 home runs and 1,311 RBIs in 2,747 games. He also had 544 doubles and 66 triples on 3,465 hits, while scoring 1,923 runs, in 11,195 at-bats.
