The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired outfielder Starling Marte on Monday. The Diamondbacks also received cash in the deal.
In exchange, the Pittsburgh Pirates received infielder Liover Peguero, right-handed pitcher Brennan Malone, and International bonus pool space.
The money that the Diamondbacks are receiving is $1.5 million. Arizona is sending $250,000 in international bonus pool money to Pittsburgh.

The 31-year-old Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic spent his entire career with the Pirates before this trade. He was in Pittsburgh from the 2012 through the 2019 season.
In his final season with the team, he had a .295 batting average with 23 home runs and 82 RBIs in 132 games. He also had 31 doubles and six triples in 159 hits, while scoring 97 runs, in 539 at-bats.
Marte has a career .287 batting average with 108 home runs and 420 RBIs in 953 games. He had 192 doubles and 42 triples on 1,047 hits, while scoring 555 runs in 3,647 at-bats.
Malone is a 19-year-old pitcher, who is still raw. He was a second-round pick by the Diamondbacks in the 2019 MLB Draft.
He was considered, according to multiple outlets, as a Top 25 prospects in the draft.

Peguero — who turned 19 on New Year’s Eve — has been in the Diamondbacks organization since the 2017 season. He was Arizona’s 18th-best prospect, according to MLB.com.
