There was a three-team MLB trade on Tuesday night. This was a blockbuster deal with several high-prices players involved.

The Boston Red Sox traded outfielder Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Besides Betts, David Price is also going out West.

The Red Sox are also sending cash to the Dodgers to cover some of the costs of Betts and Price.

In exchange, outfielder Alex Verdugo was sent to Boston. They also acquired right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol in the deal.

The third team involved was the Minnesota Twins. They acquired pitcher Kenta Maeda in the deal.

The Red Sox were handcuffed after Betts received $27 million in arbitration, as the team wanted to cut payroll. Now, the Dodgers will have several months to try to reach an agreement on a new deal.

Boston was not willing to sign him to a long-term deal. It is believed that if he signs a new deal, it’ll be $400 million or more for his services.

Price has three-years on his previous deal that he signed with the Red Sox. All three seasons are worth $32 million.

Maeda; however, will be under the Twins control — barring a future trade — for the next four seasons. He previously signed an eight-year, $26 million deal.
