A huge deal happened early Wednesday morning before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday. This was a multi-player, several-team deal that is going to have ramifications for both Eastern Conference and Western Conference teams.

This deal involved the Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Malik Beasley, Juan Hernangómez, Evan Turner, and Jarred Vanderbilt were traded to the Timberwolves. Finally, Gerald Green, Noah Vonleh, Shabazz Napier, and Keita Bates-Diop were traded to the Nuggets.

The Timberwolves are also adding a 2020 first-round pick that was in the custody of the Hawks. It originally belonged to the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nuggets are adding a first-round draft pick from the Rockets.

With Green out for the season, he is expected to waive his right to block the deal, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. He had a one-year Bird restriction but will be released.

Also, MacMahon is reporting that the Rockets will go without a center, as they plan on playing PJ Tucker at the position in their small-ball lineup.

However, the team may sign a big name as a free agent or trade for one when they go against Western teams with an impactful center.

Capela and Covington are the key pieces of this deal. It also includes two players, who have not played this season in Nenê and Green.
