The Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies made a big trade on Thursday. The Minnesota Timberwolves entered the mix late before the trade deadline to become a three-team deal.
This deal will allow Andre Iguodala to return to the court. Iguodala has been sitting out up until this point in the season.
He refused to play for the Memphis Grizzlies. Iguodala was traded from the Golden State Warriors in a salary cap dump to the Grizzlies this past summer.
Iggy, as he is commonly known, will now be suiting up with the Miami Heat. He has also agreed to a two-year, $30 million extension with the team.
In the blockbuster deal, besides acquiring Iguodala, the Heat also acquired Solomon Hill and Jae Crowder.
In exchange for these three veterans, the Grizzlies acquired Dion Waiters. He only played in three games this season with the Heat.
Waiters was also suspended three times by the team. He was disgruntled about a bench role to begin the season.
He also had an incident earlier this season when he ate a marijuana gummy that caused him to receive medical attention.
Besides Waiters, the Grizzlies also received James Johnson and Justise Winslow. Memphis then swapped Johnson to the Timberwolves for Gorgui Dieng.
