“I couldn’t be more excited for our players because most of all players have never experienced the support like that stadium can give them,” Dragons head coach Jim Zorn said. “They saw how the fans create the atmosphere and in that creation, they felt at home as well. Not out of place at all. I hope we can improve, we have a lot to work on but they were resilient today.”

With the win, the Dragons improved to 1-1 on the season. The loss dropped the Vipers to 0-2 on the season.

Dragons quarterback Brandon Silvers went 7 of 18 for 91 yards. He had one touchdown pass and one interception.

“Quarterback is the hardest position to play,” Silvers said. “It’s not easy going out there. You just got to fight through it. I didn’t play good at all in the first half and I knew it, didn’t hit throws i usually make. That first big ball added a lot to my confidence.”

Trey Williams had 11 carries for 45 yards. Keenan Reynolds had three receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Vipers quarterbacks Taylor Cornelius went 16 of 27 for 154 yards. He threw two interceptions.

Quinton Flowers went 3 of 7 for 18 yards. He also had an interception.

Silvers was intercepted by Vipers’ Tarvarus McFadden, who returned it for a 78-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The Vipers led 3-0 at halftime. Andrew Franks made a 36-yard field goal.

“We have to play better ball on offense,” Flowers said. “The defense went out and played great. They played great at the end of the day, but we keep getting in the red zone. We have to score. We have to find a way to score. The offense, we have to come together and we have to do better. We have to find a way to score.”
