Stevie “Fast” won Lights Out 11 early Sunday morning at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Adel, Georgia. He defeated David Reese in the final round.
With the win, Jackson goes home with the $40,000 prize in the Radial vs. the World category. He had to beat a fellow Georgia native to get the money.
Jackson took out the No. 2 qualifier to get the win. The No. 1 qualifier went 3.548 at 213.81 mph.
Reese — who had a better reaction time at .025 compared to Jackson’s .068 — went 3.594 at 205.88 mph in the losing effort.
This is the third straight year that a driver with NHRA ties has won this big event. Jackson also won the event in 2018.
Alex Laughlin — the Elite Motorsports Pro Stock driver — won in 2019.
One has to go back to the 2017 event to find a driver in recent memory, who did not compete in the NHRA, who won a Lights Out event. Joe Albrecht — an Outlaw 10.5 driver — won the 2017 event over runner-up Mark Woodruff.
This is Jackson’s second win of the young season. He defeated Marcus Birt at the US Street Nationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida in January.
