Report: Fury-Wilder III planned for July

According to the BBC, boxing promoter Bob Arum has informed the company that Deontay Wilder will have a rematch with Tyson Fury “around July.” If it does happen, it’ll be the trilogy between the two heavyweights.

One week ago, Fury dominated Wilder at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Fury knocked down Wilder twice and was beating down the champion in a corner, before his trainer threw in the towel.

Fury officially won the fight in the seventh round by a TKO. Wilder, who was the WBC Champion before the fight, has 30-days to exercise his rematch clause.

Wilder has said that he will exercise his option. Arum, who is Fury’s promoter in the United States, has been notified that Wilder’s representatives are planning on doing so.

Arum did an interview with Ringside Reporter when he said the trilogy will happen “around July, before the Olympics.”

When the clause is officially exercised, Anthony Joshua will have to wait for the winner. Joshua — who was shockingly upset by Andy Ruiz Jr. at Madison Square Garden in his United States debut — recaptured his belt late last year over Ruiz Jr.

Joshua, according to the post, will now fight Kubrat Pulev in June in London, England. This is a mandatory IBF challenge for the Brit.

Arum said Pulev could knock out Joshua. He said he could ”guarantee Pulev will knock out Joshua like Fury knocked out Wilder”.

if that does happen, he will look to unify the belts.

“I will look at a Pulev/Fury fight to unify the belts at the end of the year,” he added.
