Former college football player Zaire Williams was shot and killed early Monday morning, according to NBC Philadelphia. He was murdered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Williams played college football for two seasons with the Temple Owls. He also played for the Maine Black Bears.
The 25-year-old was killed at approximately 4 am when he was shot. The incident happened on the 1800 block of West Montgomery Ave.
The alleged gunman has not been identified at this time. The authorities are investigating the death.
After being shot, Williams was then transported to Temple University Hospital, where he died. He was pronounced dead at 4:38 am.
There have been no arrests. In addition, no gun has been recovered.
Before going on to play at Temple and Maine, he started for the Timber Creek football team in Sicklerville, New Jersey. When he played for Timber Creek, he was the 16th-best player in the state.
He is third on the all-time rushing list at Temple with 533 yards.
