The Arizona Cardinals have another weapon to pair with rising quarterback Kyler Murray. The Cardinals will add wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
He will officially be acquired in a trade on Wednesday, March 18th. In addition, Arizona will acquire a 2020 fourth-round draft pick.
In exchange, the Houston Texans will acquire running back David Johnson. They will also receive a 2020 second-round draft pick.

Houston is also receiving a 2021 fourth-round draft pick.
“The Texans organization served me well,” Hopkins said on Twitter. “The City of Houston served me well and my teammates served me well. The city of Houston will forever be loved. Now, it’s time to bring a championship to AZ!! Hop Out!!”
Johnson became expendable after the Cardinals transition-tagged running back Kenyan Drake. The Texans were one of four teams, who reportedly had interest in the back.
Also, Johnson helps in replacing Lamar Miller and Carlos Hyde. Both backs are expected to leave in free agency.
With Hopkins, the Cardinals acquired one of the top wide receivers in the game. He was the top target for Deshaun Watson before this deal.
The Cardinals are also willing to give Hopkins an extension which the Texans were not able to do. Presently, he has three years and $39.9 million left on his previous deal with the Texans.
While this is a disappointing deal, especially for the Texans, who are giving up a top-three wide receiver in the league, they do have a replacement at running back now. Both Lamar Miller and Carlos Hyde are expected to leave via free agency.
The 28-year-old — who will be 29 on December 16 — has only had one good season in his career. He had a bounce-back season in 2018 but struggled in 2019.

The Clinton, Iowa native — who was a third-round pick by the Cardinals in the 2015 NFL Draft — appeared in 13 games, including nine starts in 2019. He had 94 carries for 345 yards and two touchdowns.
He also had 36 receptions for 370 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2018, he had 258 carries for 940 yards and seven touchdowns. His career season came in 2016 when he went to the Pro Bowl following a 16-star season.
He had 293 carries for 1,239 yards and 16 touchdowns. Johnson also had 80 receptions for 879 yards and four touchdowns.
In his career, he has appeared in 62 games, including 47 tarts. He has 781 carries for 3,128 yards and 33 touchdowns.
He also has had 208 receptions for 2,219 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The 27-year-old — who will be 28 on June 6 — spent the last seven seasons with the Texans. He has only missed two games in his entire career — one game in 2017 and one game in 2019.
This past season, he appeared in 15 games, including 15 starts. He had 104 receptions for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns. Hopkins also had two carries for 18 yards.
In his career, he has appeared in 110 games, including 110 starts. He has had 632 receptions for 8,602 yards and 54 touchdowns.
He also has three career carries for 11 yards.
