The Boston Celtics is the latest team to report a case of the coronavirus. At this time, they have one known case.

There is one member of their basketball roster, who has tested positive for the infectious disease. He is not showing any signs of the disease.

Marcus Smart announced on Twitter he is the Celtics member with the coronavirus. Smart says that he was tested five days ago.

However, it was until Thursday night that he received his results, which were positive.

“I’ve had no symptoms and I feel great,” Smart said. “But the younger generation in our country must self distance. This is not a joke. Not doing so is selfish. Together, we can beat this. “But we must beat it together by being part for a short while. Much love.”

But this is the third player in the NBA, who has been confirmed to have it on Thursday. Two members of the Los Angeles Lakers were also confirmed to have it.

Sports teams have been using private companies to be tested. However for the general public, there is a shortage of tests for the disease.

This is the ninth confirmed positive test for the coronavirus outbreak in the NBA since the first on Wednesday, March 11th. Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert was the first positive test — and his positive test helped shut down the sports world.

Besides Gobert, his star teammate Donovan Mitchell has it. The Detroit Pistons were next to announce that one of their players had it in Christian Wood.

The Brooklyn Nets announced four players of their roster have it, including superstar Kevin Durant. It’s believed these four players may have contracted the disease during their recent road trip.

The Nets were scheduled to play the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on March 12th in San Francisco, California. However, due to the league being shut down, no games were played after March 11th.

The players were tested on their way back from San Francisco. It was also announced on Thursday night that three members of the Philadelphia 76ers front office/staff also have the disease.
