The Chicago Bulls are re-organizing their front office. Scottie Pippen, one of the franchise’s legendary figures, will no longer be a part of it.
Pippen said that he was recently fired by the Bulls as an ambassador. The Bulls recently hired Artūras Karnišovas, as their new Vice President of Basketball Operations.
The NBA legend was not pleased with the team’s struggles in recent years.

“[The firing] is probably a good thing, right?,” Pippen said about the team’s coaching change to fire Fred Hoiberg and promote Jim Boylen as interim head coach. “I like to associate myself with winning.”
The Bulls have noted a winning season since the 2015-16 season when they went 42-40. However, during the 2016-17 season, the team qualified for the playoffs with a 41-41 record, before losing in the first round.
This season, Chicago has a 22-43 record. The Bulls have 17 games left — if the NBA resumes their regular season at some point following this hiatus from the coronavirus pandemic.
If the Bulls do not win another game — if the league does not play another regular season game — they will end their season with 22 games for the second straight year. During the 2018-19 season, the team went 22-60.
In the last three seasons, the team has gone 71-158.

The Basketball Hall of Famer, Pippen, won six NBA Championships, as Michael Jordan’s wingman, during their dynasty stretch in the 1990’s. He was also a seven-time All-Star and seven-time All-NBA player.
The Hamburg, Arkansas native was the Seattle SuperSonics fifth overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft. He was then traded by the SuperSonics, along with a 1989 first-round draft pick (Jeff Sanders) to the Bulls for Olden Polynice, a 1988 second-round draft pick (Sylvester Gray), and a 1989 first-round draft pick (B.J. Armstrong).
Pippen spent 11 seasons of his NBA career with the Bulls. He also spent one season with the Houston Rockets and the final four seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers.
