Free agent pitcher Matt Harvey would like another opportunity to play in Major League Baseball. In February, he previously worked out for the Toronto Blue Jays.
While Harvey is continuing to work out, it is going to be tough for any team to sign him right now. Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, transactions have been very limited — at best.
“I hope somebody gives me a shot. I feel like I have many more years in me,” Harvey told the New York Post. “I’m throwing bullpens once or twice a week. I hope I get the opportunity. I feel like I’m in high school again, where I have to showcase myself and start all over. I just want to put myself in position to be ready and if it doesn’t work out, to know I put the effort in to make a comeback.”
One year ago, he signed a one-year, $11 million deal with the Los Angeles Angeles. After having a disappointing season, he was released by the team in July.
