He went missing on Sunday in Venice Beach, California. He was out for a swim with his 10-year-old son Aryeh.

Gaspard, his son, and other swimmers went down due to a strong rip current. He instructed the lifeguards to save his young son.

Shortly after telling the lifeguards to save his son, witnesses have reported that a big wave crashed down on him and he was not seen again. The authorities searched two days for his body, which was unsuccessful.

He was found approximately 50 yards from where he disappeared. Two people found the body early Wednesday morning when they were talking along the beach.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders who rescued Aryeh and to the lifeguards, coast guard, divers, fire and police departments for their continued efforts to help find our beloved Shad,” the statement released by his wife Siliana Gaspard on Tuesday.

Gaspard competed in the WWE from 2006 through 2010. Following his release, he made appearances in TV and movies projects.

He also worked on video games projects, as well.

In the WWE, he was a member of the tag team called Cryme Tyme with JTG.
