Mourners gathered on Friday, May 22, 2020 near where Shad Gaspard’s body was discovered. This included the wrestling community.

There were photos of Gaspard throughout his life. Many of the pictures featured his wife and his 10-year-old son Aryeh.

The pictures then led to two gigantic wreaths and a sign that said “Shad Gaspard”. It is not clear how long this will be at the location until it is removed.

Gaspard’s lifeless body was found early Wednesday morning near a lifeguard tower. His body was discovered by two people walking on the beach early in the morning.

His body was discovered at low tide. Gaspard passed away at 39-years-old.

He went missing on Sunday, May 17th after visiting the beach with his son and wife. He was the only person, who was caught in the strong rip current, that also included other swimmers, who did not get rescued.

Before he went missing, he instructed the lifeguards to save his son first. He is being hailed as a hero for that action.

In his young life, he was a part of the WWE Universe. Gaspard was a member of the tag team Cryme Tyme with JTG, who was there on site to remember his friend and brother from another mother.

He competed in the WWE from 2006 through 2010. After leaving the wrestling business, he went into acting.

Gaspard appeared in Think Like a Man, Too, Get Hard, The Game, and From Dusk till Dawn: The Series. He also co-created the 2011 graphic novel, Assassin & Son.
