Many states around the country are not allowing sporting events to happen due to the global coronavirus pandemic. However, the Keurig Dr. Pepper Lone Star Nationals presented by Driven Automotive Protection was one of the first sporting events back with fans in attendance.
Megan Meyer — the reigning Top Alcohol Dragster champion — won her first Wally of the season on Saturday night at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas. Meyer defeated Dean Dubbin in the final round.
Meyer went 5.198 at 279.15 mph to win the Divisional. Dubbin went 5.500 at 257.48 mph in the losing effort.
She had the quickest pass during eliminations, which helped her get the win.
Meyer had the starting line advantage with the better reaction time. She went 0.038 off of the line, while Dubbin went 0.051.
With this win, it is now Meyer’s 10th Lucas Oil Drag Racing Divisional win. She has won this Divisional for the second straight year.
In fact, Meyer has reached the final round for the last three races at this facility.
Meyer also won the 34th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals last October at the Texas Motorplex. She defeated Buddy Dominque in the TAD final round.
Meyer went 5.299 at 273.88 mph for the win. Dominque went 5.296 at 271.19 mph in the losing effort.
