Kyle Busch has had a bounty on him for quite some time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. The bounty has been put on Busch since February.
Kevin Harvick helped start the bounty against Busch, who has been dominate in the Truck Series. The $100,000 bounty was cashed in on Tuesday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.
Chase Elliott won the 2020 North Carolina Education Lottery 200 to claim the bounty. The money will now be used for COVID-19 relief of Elliott’s choice.
This is just Elliott’s third career win in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series. His two previous wins came in 2013 and 2017.
He also snapped Busch’s seven-race Truck Series win streak. The last time he entered into a Truck Series race and did not win also came at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 in May 2018.
Busch finished second. Following the race, he was very angry with the outcome of the race.
He said that he was going to talk to his team in the morning.
Zane Smith was the third-place finisher.
Elliott led 47 laps in the race, including the final 20 laps of the race. Austin Hill led 26 laps, while Busch led 25 laps.
Smith also led 15 laps. Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, Brett Moffitt, Ben Rhodes, and Raphael Lessard also led laps in the race.
Several drivers were not able to finish the race for a variety of reasons. This includes Garrett Smithley, Todd Gilliland, Brennan Poole, Jesse Iwuji, and Spencer Davis.
