By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher

Haverford College in Pennsylvania recently withdrew an offer to one of their incoming men’s lacrosse players due to his past comments on social media. The posts in question were described as racist and homophobic.

The school said that the posts ‘recently came to light’ regarding the player in question.

“We, the Haverford College Men’s Lacrosse family, are deeply concerned by several racist and homophobic posts made by an incoming student that have recently come to light,” Haverford men’s lacrosse head coach Nick Taylor said in a post on Twitter. “We understand and share the frustration and anger felt by the greater college community in response to said posts. The matter has been fully investigated by the Haverford College administration and athletic department and the student’s offer of admittance has been rescinded. We would also like to make it clear that, regardless of the school’s decision, racism and homophobia have no place in our family.

“Prior to the school’s decision, it has been decided by senior leadership that the student would no longer become a member of the team. We reaffirm our commitment to learning and relearning how to better lead actively anti-racist lives.”

Due to the posts, this lacrosse player will likely have a hard time finding a school that will take accept him. These posts will follow him for a long-time, as he will have to explain them and likely apologize for them.
