Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is in hot water for his social media posts recently. He made a post that has been attributed to Adolf Hitler, while other posts have showed support to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

The quote that Jackson posted from Hitler criticized white Jews.

“Because the white Jews knows that the Negroes are the real Children of Israel and to keep Americas secret the Jews will blackmail America,” the quote said. “They will extort America, their plan for world domination won’t work if the Negroes know who they were. The white citizens of America will be terrified to know that all this time they’ve been mistreating and discriminating and lynching the Children of Israel.”

PhillyVoice reporter Kyle Neubeck did some research and was able to find that the quote in question came from the 1980 book “The Nazis World War II” by Robert Edwin Herzstein.

Before his death, Hitler was the leader of the Nazi Party. He was in power from 1933 to 1945, and is the one who is considered to initiate World War II in Europe after invading Poland on Sept. 1, 1939.

Jackson called Farrakhan a “powerful man.” He also said “I hope everyone got a chance to watch this! Don’t be blinded. Know what’s going on!”

Farrakhan is a anti-Semite, who has made negative comments about Jews, as well. Jackson claims that he has no hatred towards the Jewish community for his posts.

“Anyone who feels I have hate towards the Jewish community took my post the wrong way,” Jackson said on social media. “I have no hatred in my heart toward no one.”

The Eagles are not pleased with Jackson’s posts. The two have communicated, according to a team statement.

“We have spoken with DeSean Jackson about his social media posts,” the Eagles said in a statement. “Regardless of his intentions, the messages he shared were offensive, harmful, and absolutely appalling. They have no place in our society, and are not condoned or supported in any way by the organization. We are disappointed and we reiterated to DeSean the importance of not only apologizing, but also using his platform to take action to promote unity, equality, and respect.

“We are continuing to evaluate the circumstances and will take appropriate action. We take these matters very seriously and are committed to continuing to have productive and meaningful conversations with DeSean, as well as all of our players and staff, in order to education, learn, and grow.”

The Eagles admitted that he could be fined, suspended, or even released for his comments. Other players in other leagues have been released for racist comments.

Joe Banner, who drafted Jackson with the Eagles in 2008, was not pleased with the comments.

“If a white player said anything about AA’s as outrageous as what DeSean Jackson said about Jews tonight, there would at least be a serious conversation about cutting him and need for a team meeting to discuss,” Banner said on Twitter. “Which would be totally appropriate. Absolutely indefensible.”
