Did Joanna Jędrzejczyk retire? It appears so

Joanna Jędrzejczyk posted a cryptic message on her Instagram account that indications that she might have retired from Mixed Martial Arts. She is a former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion.

The 32-year-old is 16-4 in her MMA career. In her post, she says that she’s ‘33 and retired;’ however, she has not even turned 33 yet.

The Olsztyn, Poland native will turn 33 on August 18th.

Jędrzejczyk indicated that she is in Bulgaria. During her MMA career, she was living in Florida as she competed out of the America Top Team camp.

“33 and Retired,” Jędrzejczyk wrote in her post’s caption. “Life is good. Life is Beautiful. Hard Work Pays Off. Vacation. Vacation Vibes. Vacation Vibe. Wakacje. Bylgaria. Joannatraveler. Ditaeyewear.”

Jędrzejczyk has not seen action since March when she was defeated by Zhāng Weili in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 7, 2020. Wěilì retained her UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship.

The bout was the fight of the night. Jędrzejczyk suffered bad facial damage, as she had a hematoma that disfigured her face. At the end of the month, she looked normal once again.

If this is the end of the road for Jędrzejczyk, then her last win came on October 12, 2019 against Michelle Waterson at UFC Fight Night. This was her return to the Strawweight Division, which she won by unanimous decision.

Also, if she is officially retired, Jędrzejczyk has ended her career with 11 decision wins. She also had four knockout wins and one submission win.

Three of her four losses came by decision. Also, she suffered a knockout loss.

Besides the loss to Wěilì, she also has a loss to Valentina Shevchenko and two losses to Rose Namajunas.
