Sheldon Creed won the rain-shortened Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky. This is Creed’s first career win in NASCAR’s top three series.
Before Saturday’s win, he had eight Top 5 finishes in 36 career starts. He had two second-place finishes in 2019.
“It feels awesome. I’d really like to have finished that out and get the real checkered flag,” said Creed. “Have to thank all my guys, who have been putting so much time in the shop. Really wish I could have gotten to the finish line and finished that out right but I’ll take this win.”
Before the conclusion of the second stage, lightning delayed the race. Then, a storm caused NASCAR to call the race.
Ben Rhodes finished second. Matt Crafton finished third.
Brett Moffitt led a race-high 26 laps. Creed, Zane Smith, Parker Kligerman, and Rhodes led multiple laps, while Crafton led one lap.
Several drivers were not able to finish the race. This list included Tim Viens, Trey Hutchens, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Codie Rohrbaugh, and Norm Benning.
With the win, Creed is now 46 points behind Austin Hill in the Truck Series standings, who leads with 293. Creed now has 247 points.
Rhodes is third with 246 points. He is just one point behind Creed in the points standings.
