Capps pushes DSR FC win streak to 7 with Dodge Indy Nationals win

Don Schumacher Racing is one of the best teams in the NHRA. Now, with the win on Sunday, they have won seven straight Funny Car events. 

Ron Capps defeated J.R. Todd in the Funny Car in the final round at the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. This was Capps first win of the season.

The Carlsbad, California had a small advantage off of the starting line, as he went 0.065. Todd was 0.074 off of the line.

Capps went 4.110 at 294.63 mph for the win. The Indianapolis, Indiana native went 10.318 at 80.06 mph in the loss. 

Todd went up in smoke shortly after making the hit. He then shut it off and coasted down the track.

Capps’ last win before this one came at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals presented by General Tire at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota. 

The team has won four straight events this season. DSR also won the last three Funny Car events of 2019. 

With the win, Capps now has 65 career wins, including his lone Top Fuel win. He has 64 career Funny Car wins.
