WWE SummerSlam took place on Sunday night at the WWE ThunderDome at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. This was their second event in the WWE ThunderDome concept.

Bayley defeated Asuka to retain her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford, the Street Profits, then defeated Andrade and Angel Garza to retain their WWE Raw Tag Team Championships.

Then, former teammates, which was dubbed Fire and Desire, had a singles match. Mandy Rose defeated Sonya Deville in a No Disqualification match in which the loser was required to leave the WWE.

Dominik Mysterio made his debut match. However, he was defeated by Seth Rollins in a Street Fight.

Asuka would return to action later in the night. She defeated Sasha Banks to win the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

“The Empress of Tomorrow” was previously the RAW Women’s Champion earlier this year before losing the belt in July.

For the WWE Championship, Drew McIntyre retained his belt against Randy Orton. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defeated Braun Strowman to win the Falls Count Anywhere match for the WWE Universal Championship.

Following the win, Roman Reigns returned to attack both Wyatt and Strowman. Reigns had been out of action for several months, including missing WrestleMania 36, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

WWE claimed that Reigns missed the action due a previous battle with leukemia. The storyline said he was sick, but he was off shooting a movie with his cousin Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
