The New England Patriots have named Cam Newton as the team’s new starting quarterback for the upcoming 2020 season. In addition, Newton was one of several players, who were named team captains.

The Patriots will have their first starting quarterback not named Tom Brady since the 2001 season. Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the off-season.
