Part-time NASCAR driver Mike Wallace had his appeal denied by the National Motorsports Appeals Panel on Wednesday. He is still suspended indefinitely by NASCAR.
He was suspended earlier this month for what NASCAR claimed was a violation of sections 12.1; 12.8, and 12.8.1.e in their rule book. It’s believed that one of his social media posts led to his suspension, but NASCAR has not confirmed that.
With the violation of section 12.8.1.e in their rule book, they allege Wallace made a “Public statement and/or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.”

Wallace — who returned to the sport this season after leaving it in 2015 — has to attend sensitivity training. He still has one appeal left, which will go through the National Motorsports Final Appeals Officer.
While NASCAR suspended this Wallace, they have not suspended or acted against Bubba Wallace, who called President Trump supporters a ‘buncha damn clowns’ in a social media post on Twitter. This has caused the veteran driver to be confused with their ruling against him.
Wallace spent 22 as a Cup Series driver. He made 197 NASCAR Cup Series starts starting from 1991 through 2015.

He never won a start; however, he did finish in the Top 5 three times in his career. His best career finish came at the 2001 Checker Auto Parts 500 Presented by Pennzoil on Sunday, October 28, 2001, when he finished second behind Jeff Burton at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.
He also has a fifth-place finish at Atlanta in 1994 and a fourth-place finish at Daytona in 2007.
