The NFL went into overdrive on Saturday. When news broke that New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton had the coronavirus, the league had no choice to postpone their Sunday afternoon marquee matchup.

The league was supposed to have the Patriots against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on CBS at 4:25 pm EST. That game has been postponed now.

The matchup, according to multiple reports, will either be played on Monday or even on Tuesday. The Patriots have not traveled to Kansas City yet.

New England was supposed to leave this morning. However, due to Newton’s coronavirus positive test, their travels were delayed. Several players and coaches, who were in close contact with Newton, have been asked to quarantine.

As a result of the Patriots-Chiefs postponement, the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears game is the new marquee matchup on CBS.

Four teams will not play their regularly scheduled games on Sunday due to the coronavirus. Besides the Patriots and the Chiefs, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Titans will also not play.

The Titans are dealing with a full blown outbreak with several players having the virus. The latest indication is that at least 10 players have the virus.

The league previously announced that the Titans and the Steelers will play in Week 7. With no game in Week 4, this will be a bye week for both the Steelers and the Titans.
