Louisiana Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Jerry Savoie won the 2020 AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals at the Texas Motorplex on Sunday in Ennis, Texas. The Alligator hunter defeated Joey Gladstone in the final round.
Savoie went 6.910 at 191.16 mph to claim the Wally. Gladstone went 7.005 at 192.69 mph in the losing effort.

“There’s just something about Texas,” Savoie said. “To come here and be in the finals six times and win three, it’s just awesome and a great deal. We’ve really been struggling and (crew chief) Tim (Kulungian) has been working really hard at the shop. We didn’t have the fastest bike [on Sunday], but luck was on our side and we just out-raced them.”
With the win, Savoie has won the event for the second straight year. In fact, it is Savoie’s sixth straight final round at the Texas Motorplex.
Savoie now has three wins at the facility. He now has 13 career wins.
Following the win, Savoie dedicated the win to a friend, who recently passed away.
This was Gladstone’s first career final round.
Savoie had the advantage with a 0.050 reaction time. Gladstone was playing catch up, as he was a 0.072 at the starting line.
Before this final round, Savoie was 5-0 in previous events against Gladstone. However, this was the first-time that they faced each other in the final round.
Savoie never trailed for the win. This is his first win since winning Dallas last year.
