Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson could not even make it through his first game back without being injured. He returned on Thursday night against the New York Giants.
Jackson had been out since Week 3. Now, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he’s going to be sidelined “several weeks.”

The NFL Insider said that Jackson suffered a high ankle sprain. He’ll be added to the Eagles injured reserve.
Jackson posted on his Instagram story that he was wearing a boot. Typically, high ankle sprains usually last anywhere from 4-6 weeks.

The Eagles will need to have other players step up in his absence.
Late in the game during a punt return, Jackson took a hit that drew a penalty. He was hit by two players, one after the other.
When the second player hit Jackson, his leg bent awkwardly behind him. He was immediately in pain and reached for his leg.
He needed help to get off the field. Now, he would be back on the field until late in the season — if at all.
Jackson has been hampered by injuries since he returned to the Eagles in 2019. He missed part of last season with an injury, too.
This season, he suffered a hamstring injury, which caused him to miss time following the Cincinnati Bengals tie. Now, the likely of him returning with 3-4 games will be dependent on his recovery and if the Eagles are still in playoff contention.

With the NFC East as bad as it is, the Eagles should still be in playoff contention until he returns, as somebody has to win the woeful division.
