TAD Champion Megan Meyer gets married

Defending Top Alcohol Dragster Champion Megan Meyer has gotten married. Her new last name is Mrs. Lingner.

The Kansas native married Adam Lingner on Sunday. We do not know yet if Megan will be known as Megan Meyer-Lingner or Megan Lingner.

Lingner proposed to Meyer in July 2019. He proposed while the two were in Colorado.

She got married on the same day as the NHRA eliminations were taking place at the 33rd annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals presented by Pennzoil at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas, according to Drag Race Central.

Meyer was a no-show for the eliminations, as she flew back home to Kansas to get married. She was scheduled to face Duane Shields, who got the bye win with a 5.442 at 264.86 mph.

Meyer previously said that she will be retire at the end of the 2020 season. Following her wedding, her said that she would like to have kids.

“I’ve been racing in Top Alcohol Dragster full-time for five years now, and a lot has changed over that time,” Meyer said. “I’ve accomplished pretty much everything I’ve wanted to accomplish in Top Alcohol. I’m ready to take a break, focus on getting married, starting a family, and working on my own business. I have other goals in my life right now that I want to focus on. I’ll see where that takes me.”
