Georgia Southern defeats South Alabama in their 2020 battle

Georgia Southern got back to their winning ways following Thursday night’s game. The Eagles defeated the South Alabama Jaguars, 24-17, at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Georgia.

With the win, the Eagles improved to 4-2 on the season. The team is 2-2 in conference play.

The Jaguars fell to 3-3 with the loss. South Alabama is now 2-1 in conference play.

Georgia Southern has won three of their last four games. The only loss in this stretch was a 28-14 by the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, who then went all WWE following the win.

Eagles quarterback Shai Werts went 5 of 9 for 95 yards. He also threw an interception.

Wesley Kennedy III had 13 carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Malik Murray had one reception for 38 yards.

Jaguars quarterback Desmond Trotter went 20 of 27 for 200 yards. He had two touchdown passes.

Carlos Davis had 20 carries for 70 yards. Kawaan Baker had five receptions for 65 yards.

Kennedy III scored the aforementioned two touchdowns for the Panthers. J.D. King also scored on a rushing touchdown.

Alex Raynor made a field goal, as well.

Brandon Crum and Jalen Tolbert caught touchdown receptions for the Jaguars. Diego Guajardo also made a field goal.
