Crimson Tide freshman Trey Sanders injured in a car accident

Alabama Crimson Tide running back Trey Sanders was involved in an accident on Friday. The incident happened in Florida during the team’s bye week.

The details about the accident are not known at this time. However, Sanders has suffered injuries in the crash.

“Trey Sanders was involved in a car accident this morning and is in stable condition after sustaining non-life threatening injuries,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said in a statement. “We are in direct contact with his family and the physicians that are treating him, as we continue to gather more information.”

Due to the severity of his injuries, Sanders may not play again for the Crimson Tide. We do not know the extent of his injuries at this time.

The redshirt freshman is from Port Saint Joe, Florida. He attended High School at powerhouse IMG Academy.

This season, Sanders has appeared in four games, where he has had 30 carries for 134 yards. He also has had one reception for -2 yards.

Sanders last appeared in a game last weekend in a 41-0 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He had 12 carries for 80 yards.

The 80 yards were the most that Sanders has had in the four games. Before the 80-yard performance against the Bulldogs, he had 39 yards on seven carries against the Tennessee Volunteers.
