This was the Golden Flashes first blowout of the season. In their first game, they barely escaped with a win over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a 27-23 win.
Kent State improved to 2-0 on the season. Bowling Green fell to 0-2.
With the win, the Golden Flashes have gone to 11-45 against the Falcons. This was their first meeting since October 31st, 2017 when Bowling Green won 44-16.
Kent State won their first game in the series since November 17, 2012. The Golden Flashes won 31-24.
Kent State quarterback Dustin Crum went 18 of 27 for 271 yards. He had four touchdown passes.
Collin Schlee came in to replace Crum. He went 5 of 8 for 101 yards, while also throwing one touchdown pass.
Bryan Bradford had 13 carries for 113 yards. Isaiah Wooden had three receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Bowling Green quarterback Matt McDonald went 6 of 20 for 205 yards.
Terion Stewart had 14 carries for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Noah Massey had two receptions for 45 yards.
Schlee had one rushing touchdown for the Golden Flashes. Marquez Cooper also had two rushing touchdowns.
Woodson had an aforementioned one touchdown reception. Ja’Shaun Poke and Isaiah McKoy also had two touchdown receptions each.
Golden Flashes kicker Matthew Trickett also made two field goals.
Stewart had the aforementioned two rushing touchdowns for the Falcons. Matt McDonald also had a rushing touchdown.
Nate Needham also made a field goal.
