Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will miss the rest of the season. He has suffered a torn ACL injury.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, there may be additional damage.

Burrow was injured in the third quarter on Sunday against the Washington Football Team at FedExField in Landover, Maryland. An ACL injury is typically a one-year recovery.

This means that Burrow will be hampered to begin the 2021 season if the team does not rush him back for the September start. He could potentially miss the first two months of the season — or longer — before he returns.

The 2020 No. 1 overall pick was having one of the best seasons by a rookie quarterback. Then, it all came to an end when he was sandwiched by two Washington Football Team defensive players on a third down.

Following the injury, he was down for several minutes. The medical staff called out a cart to take Burrow off the field.

Burrow said “see ya next year” in a post on Twitter. When he was getting ready to depart the field, both teams came over to show him some love.

Included in this group of players was Chase Young, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Bengals fans will have to wait to see their franchise quarterback play on the field again.

He made 10 starts this season. He was 2-7-1 as a starter.

Burrow went 264 of 404 for 2,688 yards. He threw 13 touchdown passes and five interceptions.
