The NFL has put a lockdown on its players. All players, who are not on the field or entering into the field, must now wear a mask.
This new mandate by the league begins on Thursday. There are three games on Thanksgiving.
The Thanksgiving Day slate features the Houston Texans vs. the Detroit Lions on CBS will start at 12:30 pm EST. Then, the Washington Football Team vs. the Dallas Cowboys will play at 4:30 pm EST on FOX.

The Baltimore Ravens vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers will play in the nightcap on NBC at 8:20 pm EST.
“Players who fail to wear masks on the sidelines will be subject to discipline,” according to a league memo distributed Monday. “Clubs are required to enforce these rules. Violations by players and/or staff will result in accountability measures being imposed upon the club. It is strongly recommended that each club designate one or two individuals in the bench area to ensure compliance with these rules.”
Previously, the league said that those on the sideline had to wear a mask. However, the rules for the players unlike the coaching staff and team staff members were not as restrictive.
Now, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has urged the change. It’s not clear what the punishment may be.
Goodell has changed all of his previous stances this season than in the past as the Commissioner.
Plus, teams will be limited to just 62 total players on their away traveling party. The NFL has also requested that the team obey just five trainers, chiropractors, and massage therapists per week.
In addition, the league insists that all traveling parties must wear masks on planes or transportation. The NFL says beginning in Week 13 that ‘all members of the traveling party must wear medical grade N95 or KN95 on planes or vehicles.’

This memo came after more coronavirus-positive tests were discovered in the league. There have been reports that no player has gotten the virus from playing football.
The reports said that those — who have been infected with the virus — from outside of the football field.
