The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers had a plan B. And they had to exercise that plan on Thursday.
The Chanticleers were scheduled to host the Liberty Flames on Saturday. However, with coronavirus positive tests within the Flames team, including with star quarterback Malik Willis, that game will not be able to be played.

Instead, enter undefeated BYU. The Cougars will be the next opponent for Coastal Carolina on Saturday in South Carolina.
“We’re grateful that this game between our two teams could be put together in such a timely fashion,” BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said in a statement. “It’s good to have a partner like ESPN that can help put together such a meaningful game at this point of the season.”
The game will air on ESPNU. The contest will begin at 5:30 pm EST.
College GameDay will also be at the game. This will be a matchup of 9-0 ranked teams, as the 13th ranked Cougars clash with the 18th ranked Chanticleers.
Both BYU and Coastal Carolina are hoping to win this game. They’re both hoping — right now at least — that a win in this game will catapult them into a New Year’s Six Bowl.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of the late season games are being canceled at an alarming rate. Last weekend alone, there were nearly 20 games canceled.
