New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead had surgery on a torn ACL on Tuesday. He said it was a successful surgery.
He suffered the season-ending injury on November 22nd against the Houston Texans. He was placed on season-ending injured reserve on November 28th.

“Successful surgery [on] Tuesday and on the road to recovery now,” Burkhead said in a Instagram post. “Rocking my Team Jack Foundation ‘Twice The Fight’ shirt for the Hoffman family! Check out the E60 story this Friday at 8 pm EST on ESPN2. ‘If God opens the door, run through it.'”

In his final game of the 2020, Burkhead had four carries for seven yards. He also had two receptions for five yards in a 27-20 loss to the Texans.
This season, Burkhead has appeared in 10 games. All of these games were as a backup.
He had 67 carries for 274 yards. He also has three touchdowns.

Burkhead also has 25 receptions for 192 yards. In addition, he also has three touchdown receptions.
This was his fourth season with the Patriots, before being shut down for the season.
